Bloating - Causes and Cure

What is bloating?

Bloating is the build up of gas in the stomach and intestines. When you feel bloated, the belly often feels full and tight. 

Causes of Bloating

Here are some causes of bloating:

- Intake of foods with high gaseous content eg. soft drinks

- Intake of foods the body cannot tolerate

- Menstruation in women

- Overeating

- Eating too fast 

- Health issues 

Ways to reduce bloating

First and foremost, the body reacts to whatever it intakes, so diet is a main thing and one should ensure that they eat well, that is, healthy. 

The following are ways to reduce bloating

- Intake of anti bloating foods: 

Foods with antioxidants and a high variety of nutrients help in reducing bloating eg. fruits, vegetables 

- Regular check ups: 

At times, bloating may be due to different health conditions that are articulating specific symptoms. A check up could help as the disease could be stopped  before being aggravated. 

- Regular exercise: 

A definite exercise routine helps take away excess gas. Taking walks, skipping, swimming goes a long way than one could imagine.
