What is Cancer
Cancer is a disease brought about when a rapid increase of unhealthy cells occurs when there’s a breakdown of cells in a particular tissue of the body.
What is Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the uncontrollable growth of cells in the breast. It occurs prominently in women and sometimes in men.
Symptoms of Breast Cancer
-A formation of a lump structure in the breast:
This is one of the most common symptoms that most people face. The lump feels strange as it accommodates a certain space in the breast which may cause a level of discomfort.
-A sight of blood from the nipple:
This triggers a sense of infection because blood oozing out of places it has never is an alarming symptom of disease.
-Abnormal change in shape, size, color and texture of the breast:
The breast progresses to grow or reduce into strange shapes and colors that which seem unfamiliar when taking a bath or wearing clothes.
Stages of Breast Cancer
O:
There is a formation of a mass of abnormal cells that are stagnant in a particular position of the breast. It is not serious and less people are diagnosed at this stage because most symptoms are invisible.
I:
This is the early stage where the cancer starts to gradually spread in small areas of the breast. Some mild symptoms may be experienced.
II:
This is the localized stage in which the tumor starts to grow and lymph nodes may be developed. Slight symptoms are experienced.
III:
This is the stage at which there is a regional spread of the cancer cells. The tumor grows and the lymph nodes are more developed in some cases. Cancer is likely to spread to the chest and skin.
IV:
This is the stage at which there is a distant spread of the cancer. It spreads to more organs and the symptoms are very visible and pronounced.
Treatment of Breast Cancer
Treatment is determined by the stage at which the cancer has reached.
-Stage O:
After diagnosis, a modified radical mastectomy(surgery) is undertaken, in other cases, endocrine therapy is administered. It’s not quite expensive because of the less damage.
-Stage I:
Breast conserving surgery after biopsy and some rounds of chemotherapy. It gets more expensive as the chemotherapy takes a while.
-Stage II:
Radiation, Chemotherapy with biological treatments.
-Stage III:
Several rounds of chemotherapy with a daily dose of hope to survive.
-Stage IV:
A maximum life limit is given and the best procedure is to live the best of the remaining days.

-Abstain smoking
-Practice breastfeeding
-Regular exercise
-Weight loss
-Healthy eating habits
-Periodic breast checks
-Periodic mammogram
-Limit alcohol intake
-Avoid exposure to pollution
-Avoid hormone medication
-Daily positive manifestations
