What's depression?
Depression is a mental instability brought about by the internal or external effects of an experience or environment. It is rapidly decreasing the world’s brain capacity as it has no mercy on its victims thereby leading to death of adults, teenagers and unfortunately, children.
There’s nothing under the skies that can’t be fixed when properly approached. It may have uncontrollably affected many but it can be controllably reduced.

How to overcome depression
Here are some ways to overcome depression:
- Seek mental treatment:
Most people ignore their mental health in the name of whoever knows why. The world has evolved, so as the problems affecting humans. Seeing a psychiatrist or a psychologist won’t remove a nail from you but actually improves your mental well being. The ability of a certified mental practitioner to diagnose a disease makes the disease halfway treated. Depression kills from the inside, if it’s not treated early enough, the consequences might be irreversible. The quality of life of a human being is greatly affected shifting people’s mindsets, values, beliefs and principles. Drinking it away or smoking it out or sleeping in with it just creates a space in which it grows and destroys.
A medical expert would treat it accordingly based on how long and how bad your case is, so as to help you overcome it. Aspire to see a mental health specialist when tackling depression, it’s not exposing yourself to a stranger but seeking help from your next door neighbor.
- Maintain a positive mindset:
It all starts with the mind. The direction of the mind tends to give a preview of how things might occur. Being in a chaotic mental state can be reversed by an optimistic manifestation that begins and surpasses the human mind. Reading books of self-help, listening to music that uplifts, speaking to people that encourage you and affirming yourself that’s it’s just a phase and you’ll go through it. There are times in life we have to look at situations as half full and not half empty because our perspective can move mountains. Why not create a mantra like “I’ll never ever be in a situation I can’t handle”, rearranging depression gives you a testimony “I pressed on”.
- Seek spiritual help:
Different religions have different beliefs that guide them. Well, I’d speak for Christianity, so, there’s a Bible verse for every single situation whether you believe it or not. The word of God seems to be backing up human beings in all cases because it’s a strong backbone that doesn’t let go unless you do. Looking for a verse that speaks to your situation directly or being prayed for by a spiritual leader to overcome whatever it may be is more than just a coping mechanism. Permanent healing is what the soul seeks because there are limits to what we can bear, casting all your burdens without withholding any removes a gazillion and one kilograms of everything from your shoulders, you just have to let go and let God.
